Remote describes where you work, not automatically where an employer can hire. Payroll, tax, working hours, security and customer coverage can restrict an otherwise remote role.
Find the hiring boundary
Look for an explicit list of countries, a region such as EMEA, a time-zone overlap, or wording such as “must be based in”. If the listing says only remote, treat eligibility as unknown until the employer confirms it.
Separate visa and relocation
Remote eligibility, work authorization, visa sponsorship and relocation support answer different questions. Do not assume one from another.
Build a quick decision check
Confirm location, employment arrangement, required working hours, salary currency and the original application URL. Save unclear questions for a recruiter instead of guessing.
